Welcome to Shaw Wood and the start of your child’s educational journey with us. We are a warm, friendly, community focused school, who will do our very best to put your child’s social, academic and holistic needs and requirements at the forefront of everything that we do.

Our aim is to create a safe, happy, exciting learning environment, where all children have fun while they learn and are able to achieve the highest standards possible. Whilst we have high standards and expectations around behaviour, attendance, and school work; we are a fully inclusive school and support all children to achieve their best. A vital part of this is to develop children’s self-esteem and self-confidence through our THRIVE ethos and nurturing environment, creating an atmosphere where everyone is valued regardless of their age, gender, race, faith, or ability.   

 I am very proud to be the headteacher of Shaw Wood and know that the staff team here will ensure that you and your child feel welcome and supported as part of the Shaw Wood family.
